Static & Dynamic Code Analysis
We read your source line by line and test it while it runs, so problems are caught before they reach production.
Some problems can only be found by reading the code. A login page can look perfect from outside while the check behind it is missing on one route out of two hundred.
A code review looks at both sides: we read how your software is written, then test how it behaves while it runs.
What we look for
- Authorization flaws: places where the code never asks whether a record belongs to the person requesting it. We explain this common bug in Change one number in the URL.
- Logic errors: rules that can be skipped, repeated or done in the wrong order.
- Data-leak risks: personal data in logs, responses that return too much and secrets in the repository.
- Injection and unsafe input handling.
- Weak use of cryptography: home-made schemes, poor key handling and unsafe defaults.
- Vulnerable dependencies that your code actually uses.
Static and dynamic, together
Static analysis
We read the source line by line, with analysis tools to help us cover the ground. This finds code paths that testing from the outside would never reach.
Dynamic analysis
We run the application and test it with real requests. This confirms which findings can truly be exploited, and catches problems that only appear at runtime.
Together they cut out most false alarms, so your team spends its time on real problems.
What you receive
- Findings tied to exact files and lines, ranked by risk
- Suggested fixes, in code where that helps
- Notes on the patterns behind the bugs, so the same mistake stops coming back
- A second look at your fixes
Your code stays yours
We agree how your source code is shared, stored and deleted before we receive any of it, and we work under a confidentiality agreement.
